Disabled Newlife Center (DNC) Nepal is a non-profit and non-governmental organization in Nepal. It is dedicated to provide rehabilitation & support to physically challenge of children. The organization provides, apart from medical treatment opportunities, residential support & education support, physiotherapy, speech therapy, music therapy and art therapy to those children who are physically challenged. The organization runs with support of well-wishers and donors within national and international. The organization has a team of dedicated staff to manage and operate the organization on a day-to-day basis. DNC now needs a capable individual, who have the passion to work with children and help improve lives.

1- Post: Physiotherapist

A physiotherapist’s core skills include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electro-physical modalities. S/he also has an appreciation of psychological, cultural and social factors influencing their children. S/he provides physical services to take care for children difficulties. S/he helps and treats children with physical problems caused by illness, accident and disable corrective surgery. It sees human movement as central to the health and well-being of individuals and identifies and maximizes movement through health promotion, preventive healthcare, treatment and rehabilitation

Responsibilities:

  • Assess children physical function, analyze findings and establish physiotherapy diagnosis
  • Evaluate press to keep track of children progress and to adjust treatment
  • Maintain detailed records of children’s treatment and progress
  • Makes daily routine of children physiotherapy and do its regularly
  • Monthly visit to HRDC to coordination with doctor and get remarks from them
  • To be responsible for physiotherapy equipment, ensuring that equipment is looking after and safely maintenance
  • Provide education and consulting services to children health-care professionals
  • Participate in safe and effective discharge planning and before admitting of children
  • Prepare monthly children progress report and submit to executive director
  • Attend staff meeting for making effective and efficient physiotherapy activity

The candidate should have the following qualities:

  • Should have passed physiotherapy training with bachelor in any disciplinary
  • Should have maturity and passion to work with children
  • Should be at least 2 years of related field experiences
  • Should have adequate knowledge of physiotherapy

2- Post: Speech Therapist

Speech therapist is diagnose, advice about treat speech problems to help children to communicate effectively. The development of communication skills is a dynamic process that is shaped by interdependent factors intrinsic to the child and in interaction with the environmentEffective early intervention services and supports are based on theoretical, empirical and clinical models of child development which assume that the acquisition of communication occurs within a social and culture framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying children’s developmental speech and communication difficulties/disorders
  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Treat Speech, language, cognitive-communication and swelling disorders in individuals of all levels, from infancy to the elderly, utilizing an individualized plan with both long and short term goals.
  • Devising, implementing and revising relevant treatment programme
  • Monitoring and evaluating children’s progress and planning and delivering training sessions
  • Maximum given time about speech therapy to children as individual participate in clinical
  • Prepare monthly children progressive reports and submit to executive director
  • Attend staff meeting and make work improvement plan

The candidate should have the following qualities:

  • Should have passed Speech therapy training with bachelor in any disciplinary

Renunciation: As per DNCs rules and regulations and both position are part time staff.
